Cardiovascular Physiology

Producer: Shavit, Dr. Gabriel

This video shows various experiments on the isolated heart of a rat, and the in vivo (dog) model of a number of common heart disorders. High-quality video recordings demonstrate the effect of the presynaptic system, represented by the vagus nerve. The heart fibrilation condition is demonstrated using a dog and the effects of heart massage and electrical defibrillation. All experiments demonstrate both physiological effects and the ECG output of the demonstrated conditions. The film was intentionally produced without background narration, since it was demonstrated that students pay more attention when the explanation is given by the teacher, and not the video, but it does have text labels.
